Sculpture has become a natural extension of my ongoing investigation into the human figure, presence, and embodiment. After years of exploring the figure through painting and drawing, I began working in three dimensions during my MFA studies, drawn to the physicality of form, weight, and space.
These works represent an emerging body of work focused on understanding the figure through volume and material. Working primarily in clay, I continue to explore questions that have long informed my two-dimensional practice: how the body occupies space, how presence is conveyed, and how emotion can be held within form.
This exploration continues through the Newington-Cropsey Foundation Sculpture Fellowship, where I am developing a new body of sculptural work and expanding my understanding of the figure through three-dimensional form.
